Jack is part of the team called "The Pack" who work for the Sodor Construction Company. Jack the Front Loader is the newest member of the team. He wants to be very useful, but is so anxious he tries to do the other machine's jobs. After he causes an accident by doing a job meant for Oliver the Excavator, he was worried that Miss Jenny would send him away. But he proved his bravery by rescuing Thomas when a bridge was in danger of collapsing.
